Governor Radda Flags Off Palliative Distribution for 1,813 Persons in Daura

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Tuesday at the Daura Township Stadium flagged off the distribution of food items and cash to vulnerable persons in Daura senatorial district of Katsina State.

The beneficiaries, totalling 1,813 include widows and divorcees left with children, orphans and elderly persons, who got a 50 kilo bag of rice and N10,000 each.

Governor Radda, in his address, explained that Daura is the last Katsina senatorial zone where he would be launching the disbursement of palliatives to the people of the State.

Appreciating the distribution committee for properly organizing the event, he said: "I want to appreciate the committee for ensuring the orderly conduct of the beneficiaries, who lined up peacefully for screening to the point of collection".

Chairman of the palliative distribution committee in Daura, who is also the Commissioner for Commerce and Trade, Alhaji Adnan Na-habu, said their committee carefully screened 1,813 vulnerable persons across the 11 electoral wards in the zone, and selected them for the empowerment.

"It is hoped that the beneficiaries will not sell the food items they have just received," he said.
